BCU Courses 2010

Prices; 1 day £85/person/day (provided a minimum of 2 persons), 2 days £160/person (provided a minimum of 2 persons on the course.) includes equipment. Prices for 1:1 coaching available on request.

 We are able to run BCU courses from 1 star to 5 star leader, and level 1 to level 5 coach in most disciplines. The courses listed below are those we have already programmed to happen, if what you want isn't there it doesn't mean we don't do it!

 

 3 Star surf training and assessment

1 day training and 1 day assessment for paddlers who have done some kayaking in the surf and are looking to perfect their surfing skills to maximise their wave opportunities. March 13/14

3 Star sea kayak training and assessment

1 day of training and a day’s assessment for those sea kayakers who have been paddling for at least 12 months and who are looking to recognise their personal skills and theoretical knowledge at this s level in sea conditions up to force 4. April 10/11, May, 22/23, June 5/6, 19/20, July 3/4, Sept 4/5, 18/19.

4 star leader sea kayak training

For those sea kayakers who wish to be trained in the skills necessary to lead other paddlers in a moderate tidal water environment with sea state force 4. Includes detailed action planning for assessment. March 27/28.  May 18/19, June 12/13. Sept 4/5.

Coastal navigation and planning

The aim of this theoretical course is to give the student the tools to enable them to plan and navigate effectively on coastal journeys. March 26, May 17, June 11.

4 star leader sea kayak assessment

For those sea kayakers who wish to be assessed in the skills necessary to lead other paddlers in a moderate tidal water environment with sea state force 4. April 24/25, Sept 25/26.

5 star leader sea kayak training

This is a leadership award and the appropriate training for paddlers who wish to lead groups of other paddlers in appropriate locations in advanced tidal waters and dynamic weather conditions typified by the Climate of the British Isles. . Includes detailed action planning for assessment. April 17/18, Sept 11/12.

Open water navigation and tidal planning

The aim of this theoretical course is to give the student the tools to enable them to plan and navigate effectively on open water journeys. April 16, Sept 10.

5 star leader sea kayak assessment

This is a leadership award and the appropriate test for paddlers who wish to lead groups of other paddlers in appropriate locations in advanced tidal waters and dynamic weather conditions typified by the Climate of the British Isles. May 1/2 , Sept 11/12.
