BCU Courses 2012

We are able to run BCU courses from 1 star to 5 star leader, and UKCC level 1 to level 3 coach. The courses listed below are those we have already programmed to happen, if what you want isn't there it doesn't mean we don't do it!

Costs; 1 day navigation courses £70.00/person, 2 day training courses £165/person, 3 day training courses £230/person. 3 star assessment  £85/person, 4 and 5 star assessments £180/person. N.B. There are BCU admin fees to pay in addlition to these prices.

3 Star surf training and assessment

1 day training and 1 day assessment for paddlers who have done some kayaking in the surf and are looking to perfect their surfing skills to maximise their wave opportunities.

3 Star sea kayak training and assessment

1 day of training and a day’s assessment for those sea kayakers who have been paddling for at least 12 months and who are looking to recognise their personal skills and theoretical knowledge at this s level in sea conditions up to force 4. March 17/18/, May 26/27,Sept 8/9.

 

4 star leader sea kayak training

For those sea kayakers who wish to be trained in the skills necessary to lead other paddlers in a moderate tidal

water environment with sea state force 4. Includes detailed action planning for assessment. March 4/5. April 24/25, May 19/20, Jun 9/10. Sept 22/23.

 

Coastal navigation and planning

The aim of this theoretical course is to give the student the tools to enable them to plan and navigate effectively on coastal journeys. Jan 8, March 3, April 23,May 18, June 8. Sept 21. 

 

4 star leader sea kayak assessment

For those sea kayakers who wish to be assessed in the skills necessary to lead other paddlers in a moderate tidal water environment with sea state force 4. March 13/14, 24/25, June23/24, Sept 15/16.

 

5 star leader sea kayak training

This is a leadership award and the appropriate training for paddlers who wish to lead groups of other paddlers in appropriate locations in advanced tidal waters and dynamic weather conditions typified by the Climate of the British Isles. . Includes detailed action planning for assessment. March 24/25, April 16/17, May 3/4, Sept 15/16.  

 

 

 

Open water navigation and tidal planning

The aim of this theoretical course is to give the student the tools to enable them to plan and navigate effectively on open water journeys. March 23, April 15, May 2, Sept 14.

 

 

 

 

5 star leader sea kayak assessment

This is a leadership award and the appropriate test for paddlers who wish to lead groups of other paddlers

in appropriate locations in advanced tidal waters and dynamic weather conditions typified by the Climate of the British Isles. April 19/20, Sept 1/2, 29/30.
